Paul De Grauwe holds Walter-Adolf-Jöhr-Lecture 2012 12.2011 - We are happy to announce the keynote speaker for the Walter-Adolf-Jöhr-Lecture 2012: Professor Paul De Grauwe, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Paul De Grauwe is one of the most renowned analysts of the European integration process. He holds honorary degrees at the University of St. Gallen (1999), at the Turku School of Economics and Business Administration (2000) and at the University of Genoa (2005). The topic of his address will be announced at a later date. Carlo Strub wins SSES Young Economist Award 2011 6.2011 - At this year's annual meeting in Lucerne, Carlo Strub and Andrew Clausen won the Swiss Society for Economics and Statistics (SSES) Young Economist Award 2011 for their paper "Envelope Theorems for Non-Smooth and Non-Concave Optimization". Carlo Strub joined the Institute of Economics as an assistant professor in 2010. Walter-Adolf-Jöhr-Lecture 2011 5.2011 - On May 21, 2011 the annual Walter-Adolf-Jöhr-Lecture took place. Prof. Dr. Carl Christian von Weizsäcker, Research Fellow of the Max-Planck-Institut Bonn, presented his research field dealing with sovereign debt, individual provision and the power monopoly of the state.
