Prof. Dennis Gärtner Professor of EconomicsWe aim at excellence in research, teaching and scientific policy advice with a specialization in Microeconomics. Dennis Gärtner is Full Professor of Economics at the HSG’s School of Economics and Political Science since August 1st 2015. Prior to that, he worked at the University of Zurich and also spent a research stay at the Institut d’Economie Industrielle in Toulouse, France. After obtaining his Doctor’s degree, he first worked as an assistant professor at the University of Zurich. In 2009, he spent a year as a visiting professor at the International School of Economics of Tbilisi State University in Georgia. He has been Professor of Economic Theory at the University of Bonn since 2011. His research and teaching activities focus on the following fields: ◾Applied Microeconomic Theory ◾Contract Theory and Mechanism Design ◾Regulation ◾Competition Policy Dennis Gärtner's publication record includes the American Economic Review, Research in Economics, RAND Journal of Economics. He has taught various courses at the Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral Levels. Besides basic courses in microeconomics, he has also offered courses in industrial economics and competition policy, for instance. From 2013 to 2015, he was awarded the teaching prize of the University of Bonn three times.
