Dennis Gärtner is Full Professor of Economics at the HSG’s School of Economics and Political Science since August 1st 2015. He studied Economics at the University of Constance and at the University of Zürich, where he also obtained his Doctoral degree and worked as a postdoctoral researcher. He visited the Institut d’Economie Industrielle in Toulouse and the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University before becoming Full Professor of Economic Theory at the University of Bonn in 2011.
His research and teaching activities focus on the following fields:

◾Contract Theory and Mechanism Design
◾Competition Policy and Regulation
◾Business Economics and Marketing
Dennis Gärtner's research has been published in a range of scientific journals including the American Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Theory, the RAND Journal of Economics, the Journal of Industrial Economics, and the International Journal of Industrial Organization.
He has taught courses in microeconomic theory and applied microeconomics at all levels and has been awarded numerous teaching prizes.
