Professor of Applied Microeconomics
Stefan Buehler is Full Professor at the School of Economics and Political Science since 2012 and Managing Director of the Institute of Economics since 2013. He is a Co-Editor of the Swiss Journal of Economics and Statistics, a Member of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Society of Economics and Statistics, and the President of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Duesseldorf Institute of Competition Economics (DICE). Stefan Buehler served as an Independent Member (2005-2010) and Vice President (2010-2015) of the Swiss Competition Commission. Prior to joining the University of St. Gallen as an SNSF Professor (“Förderungsprofes-sur”, 2007-2012), he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich. He held visiting positions in Europe and the USA.
His research and teaching activities focus on the following fields:
- Industrial Organization
- Competition Law and Economics
- Regulation
- Economics of Circularity
Stefan Buehler has published in the American Economic Review, the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Industrial Economics, the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, the Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, the International Journal of Industrial Organization, the Journal of Regulatory Economics, Economics Letters, etc.
